Charlotte von Ravenstein | Ceramic Interfaces
Charlotte von Ravenstein, Bachelorthesis 2024
Electronic devices are usually made of a combination of plastic and metal and do not last very long. Ceramic has interesting properties: it is extremely durable and simply very beautiful. This project explores the possibilities of designing electronic devices made of ceramic. A particular focus is on the interface and the sensory interaction with the device. In three series of experiments under the themes of light, sound and haptics, I am iteratively testing which technologies can be combined with ceramics and what advantages this combination brings.
