Fanny Gaßmann, Master Thesis 2016
How can a local museum gain relevance and leave behind its dusty, outdated image? Beyond it ́s traditional role
a local museum needs to ask: what makes up a town today? What does it mean to be a citizen? Once the museum opens up and implements a concept for participation it gains relevance thus also supports a democratic historiography: through their multi-perspective character artifacts and anecdotes contributed by citizens can demonstrate the unique (his)story of a community.
