The futuristic hearing assistant BOLD propagates a new kind of digital hearing beyond a pure hearing improving function: A digital click sonar lets users „see“ with their ears and a dynamic noise cancelling allows the background noise to be suppressed in order to focus on something particular. The eye-catching design and the placement in front of the ear turn BOLD into a consciously worn wearable, which is no longer hidden, but actively communicates through light signals what kind of input the wearer is currently receiving.
