Jonas Schneider, Valentin Lindau | Sweep + Loop
Jonas Schneider, Valentin Lindau, Bachelor Thesis 2015
Berlin Alexanderplatz is one of the most highly frequented squares in Europe, it’s complex structures require tailored solutions for cleaning and maintenance. The current system can no longer fulfill these requirements. So we developed a flexible and scalable system for cleaning public squares, managed by one worker. The concept relies on two devices: Sweep, a semi-autonomous cleaning machine, which follows workers closely on their rounds, sweeping up behind them. And the Loop system, which consists of mobile dustbins that circle autonomously on the square. Collected waste is deposited into an underground reservoir at the periphery of the square.
