MIDI sequencers allow the composition of rhythms and melodies that can be played by sound generating devices. Current MIDI sequencers free creative people from musical conventions, but limit them by operating like a technical device. rEVOLVEr is a MIDI instrument controlled by physi- cal gestures that communicates via haptic feedback. Intuitive manipulations that promote performative and collaborative use are internalized quickly and enable expressive interaction.
