Quote Note is a digital note-taking app for video calls, meetings and lectures that combines handwritten notes with the automatic transcription of spoken language – which has since become possible within a matter of seconds. Based on the questions: 1. what consequences for writing does speech recognition have in which contexts, and 2. how could handwriting possibly be accelerated, Quote Note was developed as an App that deliberately celebrates the act of manual note taking in the digital realm. Here, handwritten notes are made smarter by linking them to the growing archive of transcripts whilst accelerating the act of handwriting by two novel pen interactions.
